He knew it his whole life, but never planned to tell anyone. He was going to be the guy everyone wanted him to be: the center of attention, a wild crowd-pleaser -- straight.
"Until the day I told somebody, I was never going to tell people," said Brandon Griffin, a 24-year-old physics major at the University of Nevada, Reno.
The process of coming out as a gay man has been onerous, he said. Spanning nearly five years, Griffin's struggle to define himself began with a phone call home.
