ESPN 'Body Issue' PHOTOS: Naked Athletes Amare Stoudemire, Diana Taurasi & More

ESPN the Magazine is out with its latest "Body Issue," in which prominent athletes strip down and bare all. This year's cover stars include new Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire and 2009 WNBA MVP Diana Taurasi, who first became known for her dominant play at the University of Connecticut. Lesser known athletes made the cover as well. Golfer Camilo Villegas and wheelchair tennis player Esther Vergeer, along with the USA Women's Water Polo team all grace covers of the latest issue, which is on newsstands soon. Last year's covers included the likes of Serena Williams and Dwight Howard.

I was amazed when I saw the photos in my son's copy of the magazine. Maybe it was the beauty of the bodies. Maybe it was the contortions that they accomplished to keep the "privates" private. But I was surprised to see how inked-up so many were. Tim Howard has some of the hymn "Amazing Grace" in script on his arm.

Diana Taurasi totally flipped the script regarding how attractive I found her in the past . . . if I can't find any hi-def pics of that cover and her other nude pics from the mag in the next few weeks, I'm definitely going to buy two issues . . . one for memorabilia and another for . . . *ahem*, my worst habit, L0L. She looks UBER UBER HAWT!!!

Agreed. I have always found it odd that a decapitation is perfectly acceptable on prime time television, but that nudity is deemed too extreme for the viewers. Fear the n1pple!

I'm always impressed, I think while ESPN is obviously trying to one-up the SI swimsuit edition, at least this is more directly sports related than a bunch of models in "swimwear". The pictures are often outstanding and, rather than try to titillate they show just what an athlete is. Often times its not what you expected.

Taurasi plays for the Phoenix Mercury, was MVP twice in the WNBA, won at every level of women's bball and is possibly the most skilled female player.
