Frank Bonanno's Set To Open New Cocktail Bar Near Larimer Square

Named for William Green Russell, a Colorado gold miner in the 1850s, the Prohibition-esque watering hole is slated to open November 1. The Bonannos broke ground yesterday on a new stairway close to Larimer Street that will make entering the spot much easier than the alley entrance used when the space was Below Bar. The street-side staircase will lead to Wednesday's Pie, but on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 pm to 2 am, cocktail enthusiasts will walk past the pastry case and through the silver kitchen door, which doesn't lead to a kitchen at all, into the foyer of Green Russell.
