Michelle Williams is a great actress, but let's be honest... Marilyn Monroe's appeal was her sex appeal, and this role would call for a, ahem, curvier gal.

MM's eyes were special--they had a sparkle and a joy that are one of a kind.

Even though she doesn't look like a clone of Marilyn Monroe, Christina Hendricks embodies my idea of the Modern Day Marilyn. Christina just has the same quality and sex appeal that Marilyn had.

Why must we always picture young actresses as Marilyn Monroe? This one looks awful.

She looks about as much like Marilyn Monroe as I do. Trust me; I don't.

Not even close, but no one could be.

I think Ms. Williams is an excellent and under-utilized actress, I hope she does well with this film.

Michelle Williams is FINALLY coming into her own. Even after an Oscar nomination for 'Brokeback Mountain' which she was brilliant in, she's still in the non-existent world of Independent films which have become more and more obscure. She is a truly gifted actress. The supporting cast.....well, their individual lists of credits speak for themselves. I think people want whoever plays Marilyn Monroe to be her carbon copy. Finding that would be a neat trick and when you start looking, check the local drag shows. They seem to be the only performers who can truly "do" Marilyn.

I think she would make a better young Elizabeth Taylor. Marylin, Scarlett Johansson would have been a better choice.

ScarJo doesn't look or sound (more importantly) anything like MM though.

Michelle Williams is a very ugly looking Marilyn..

Congrats, you're the first person on the planet to have called Michelle Williams ugly. Enjoy continuing to wear your grease-smeared glasses.

I dont get this casting at all. There is NOTHING Marilyn about her. To me, Marilyn lit up the screen with her spark and effortless sexiness. Michelle is that quirky/indie actress (good one at that) who already looks like she's trying too hard, even in that photo. Sorry, but this is a no from me.
