A 9-year-old aspiring pirate in the southeast London area got the surprise of her life when Johnny Depp showed up at her school this week.

Beatrice Delap, a student at Meridian Primary School, wrote to Captain Jack Sparrow to ask for his aid in staging a mutiny against her teachers.

Depp showed up in Beatrice's classroom virtually unannounced in full "Pirates of the Caribbean" costume.

That would be neat.

It would have also been neat had Keith Richards shown up as Jack Sparrow's dad.

What a nice spontaneous thing to do for kids. Wonderful man and a class act.

What a great guy. Glad to see a celebrity not take themselves so seriously and respond to a fan in such a gracious manner.

Any American actor who chooses to raise his children in France is a smart man. Johnny Depp is sincere, of that I am sure.

Hollywood won't get any credit for this at all because one of it's actors did this, now on the other hand if it was something bad....well you get the gist....I'm just saying.

Yes, his acting has been brilliant in almost everything he's done. LOVED Edward Scissorhands and Legend of Sleepy Hollow. His character in Bennie and Joon was remarkable. Wasn't thrilled with Sweeny Todd, mostly because it was so violent and hard to watch, but his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow is genius. He's probably one of the best actors in Hollywood today IMO.

Made me smile. Made a little girl happy and no doubt thrilled her class - probably remember it forever. Gotta admire the guy for that. No slouch as an actor, either. Yo, Johnny - nice one!
