Carly Fiorina Drinks Tequila, Tries To Roll Her R's: 'Every Speech Should Begin With A Shot' (VIDEO)

Carly Fiorina Tequila Shots

Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina appeared Friday night at the Hispanic 100 Lifetime Achievement Award dinner and accepted a toast of tequila shots.

The two self-funded political upstarts seeking office in California downed the libations to the smooth musical stylings of a mariachi band before taking the stage.

"Muchas gracias. Muchas gracias. You know I must say this evening has spoiled me forever, I mean from now on, I want to follow Paul Rodriguez [the emcee], I want to follow an incredible mariachi band... and I don't know, I think every speech should begin with a shot of tequila," Fiorina said, before doing her best attempt to show that she could roll her r's.

"I'm with Carly Fiorina, we oughta do more events like this," Whitman said.

Whitman's campaign has reportedly spent millions of dollars in an operation to drum up support from Latino voters. Her efforts included a Spanish-language ad that touted her reluctance to support Arizona's controversial immigration law. But her mission to court Latinos in California was complicated last month when her harsh stance on the employment of undocumented workers was twisted by the revelation that she had employed a Mexican housekeeper who was in the United States illegally. She has claimed that Whitman was aware of her immigration status as early as 2003, but Whitman denies these allegations.

Fiorina's electoral chances may also weigh heavily on the Latino vote, an issue that she has complicated by announcing her support of Arizona's immigration law. The National Organization for Marriage has come to her aid, however, releasing a Spanish-language ad attempting to convince conservative Hispanic voters that she will stand with them on social issues.

Meanwhile, Brave New Films has released a web video that seeks to highlight Fiorina as a self-centered and extravagant former CEO who outsourced jobs while furthering her own personal wealth. Another video from the group has painted her as a Sarah Palin hybrid who will support racial discrimination and the harsh enforcement of deportation.

perhaps my comment will not be deleted or heavily moderated this time around (as there was nothing abusive about what was said)

Fiorina & Whitman are a disgrace to women like me who have worked very hard to be business owners and take care of family & community. These women think that they can self-fund campaigns and buy their way into office -- not to mention engaging in some crappy  Read More...

I saw this video many times and wonder where are the photos of those two women toasting those tequila shots? I saw several cameras at that event. Now that those women are defeated can we are able to see them?

My fellow Californians: Let's send both of these xenophobes back to their Silicon Valley mansions together. That way they can console each other while we try to put our state's finances back in order.

I tend to doubt whether those mariachi musicians, when they enter the poll booth, would vote for Meg Whitman. But one has to make a buck somehow...

Every time I see a Whitman or Fiorina commercial, I feel like i need a shot just to get through it (alcohol or tetanus, either one will do). And it would take a lot more than just a shot for me to ever consider voting for either of these frauds.

By the way, that was a total staged event. These women are so out of touch - get them out of here. When they lose they can drink shots and console each other at some resort and spa in Mexico.

Is this what politics in this country has come to? Two businesswomen chugging tequila like barflies in the hope of winning the votes of people whom, in real life, they exploit without a shred of conscience?

Well, yeah. But when hasn't it been like that? The opening scene of "Boardwalk Empire" was pitch perfect with Nucky addressing a Temperance Rally, then pulling a draw from a flask as he exited.

I don't mean to be cynical, but this is just the b.s of shaking hands & kissing babies. Maybe it's a little worse when those doing the kissing are dingos planning to eat said babies...

Thanks, I'm suffering from an overload of cynicism myself. Does Meggy really think drinking tequila with some Latinos will rehabilitate her in any way, after how she treated her housekeeper? Sheesh, I try *not* to be too cynical, but it's getting harder by the day.

1. Fiorina thinks racial profiling is A-OK. She fiercely supports SB 1070 -- the Arizona immigration law that essentially legalizes racial profiling. In fact, Fiorina was quoted saying, “This law [SB 1070] is necessary, because the federal government isn’t doing its job and the people in Arizona are in danger.”

2. Fiorina opposes vital funding for education and health care in our communities. She spoke out against the emergency state aide bill, which saved the jobs of approximately 13,700-16,500 teachers in California and also funded Medicaid programs serving approximately seven million Californians.

3. Fiorina is notorious for outsourcing and mass layoffs. While serving as CEO of Hewlett-Packard, Fiorina fired 18,000 people and outsourced tens of thousands of jobs – a move she calls “right-shoring.” She still brags about this decision every chance she gets, and has said that her only regret is not firing those workers faster.

4. Fiorina doesn’t care about the uninsured and the under-insured. She wants to repeal the new health care reform law, which provides much-needed access to affordable healthcare for as many as eight million uninsured Californians, as well as countless others with pre-existing conditions who have been denied care.

5. Fiorina refuses to recognize the essential role that immigrant workers play in our community and economy. According to Fiorina, “Illegal immigration has eroded Americans' trust in government, threatened our national security and hurt our fellow Californians.

Let me be very clear: I am 100 percent against amnesty, no exceptions. The truth is: we have not secured the border in any shape, form, or manner," said Whitman. "My view is until we actually do secure the border and actually stop illegal immigration, we can't talk about any other solutions, and I am 100 percent against amnesty.

The thing that these disingenuous people are doing is erecting a straw man so they proceed to pummel it to disintegration to the howls of their dimw!t_ted supporters. No one (since Reagan, anyway) is proposing "amnesty," which would treat undocumented migrants as if they had never committed any offense and permit them immediate access to legalization. Rather, every bill so far has proposed various *pathways* whereby people who are already in this country illegally can redeem themselves by paying a fine, taking citizenship classes, serving in the military, and *getting in line* for legalization. There is a practical reason for that. Many of those who are here without documentation were brought here as small children. They should not be punished for the acts of their parents. Moreover, it would be a lengthy, expensive process to attempt to remove 11 million people from the country. Logic dictates that we should offer an incentive to such people to police themselves or otherwise continue to live in their communities to which they have contributed, but with legal status.

Fiorina battled breast cancer a year ago. Out fell the blonde. In came the wiry gray.

Chemo’s effect on hair has been well documented (here, information from Breastcancer.org). After it falls out, often it comes in again a totally different texture, even a different color.

Seriously, this election is being fought along the lines of beauty (Repub) vs beast (Dem) and Corporations vs The American People. Mccain picked sarah palin for her looks and now America is going down the same dangerous path by nominating, supporting and ELECTING attractive republican men and women soley for their looks or because they look like us and nothing more. Everything that glitters is not gold. They have mixed messages, Pro-Government but Anti Government, it can’t be both ways.
You would have to be living under a rock to think that by ELECTING Corporate Republicans over Working for the people Democrats at this crucial time in our country would be better for ALL Americans and the prosperity of this country. I am sorry but if Dems had some on these characters, I would have to go with the Republican candidate or stay home. You may not like the Dems, but the Repubs are far worst.
Senators will serve for 6 long yrs. Now close your eyes and Imagine for 6yrs Rand Paul, Sharon Angle, Jan Brewer, Ron Johnson (THE WORST), Christine O'Donnell, Joe Miller, Carl Paladino, Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina and Mark Kirk championed by john boehner, mitch mcconell, michele bachman, john mccain, sarah palin, dick armey, FOX NEWS, glen beck, newt gingrich, with special guest the T-Party Express and "We Want Our Country Back Militias" and now the star of our show .......RUSH LIMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBAUGH..
