Barack Obama Live Speech

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Barack Obama is sure to get a friendly audience at his latest town hall -- his guests will be his supporters.

Spending ever more time on political campaigning, Obama on Tuesday night will speak to an audience of backers from Organizing for America, the president's political organization based at the Democratic National Committee, as well as students from host George Washington University.

The event is being billed as a conversation between Obama and his supporters in hopes of firing them up ahead of the crucial Nov. 2 elections.

Obama is expected to take some questions from the audience; others were submitted through social network sites like Facebook and Twitter and have been chosen in advance by the Democratic National Committee.

These kinds of venues, however this White House feels about them, continually come off as staged and stacked.
I applaud this desire of our President to speak to the American People and understand the control required to keep him safe.
Perhaps enabling questions from a broader base would assist in bringing a little more open in the discourse.
I'm happy this President is able to maintain  Read More...

A lesson in Obamateurism...........

From National Review:
"Obama has become a master at the art of self-diminishment. He’s working his way down the food chain of targets for shrill attacks. He started at George W. Bush (who is out of office but at least a former president), descended to John Boehner (the House minority leader people have barely heard of), and finally alighted on Karl Rove (who is a political operative and pundit).
Rove’s offense is helping Republican outside organizations raise money for political advertisements. Obama excoriated him by name the other day. The equivalent would have been President Bush attacking a longtime Democratic politico like Bob Shrum or John Podesta. Bush’s sense of the dignity of the office kept him from ever sinking so low. Obama is not so inhibited."

& even Bob Schieffer had a go at Axelrod.....
"On Face the Nation, Bob Schieffer asked Obama adviser David Axelrod if he had any evidence that the foreign money the Chamber gets is anything other than “peanuts†for an organization with a $200 million annual budget. Axelrod shot back a killer rejoinder, “Well, do you have any evidence that it’s not, Bob?â€"
BOB SCHIEFFER: if the only charge that the Democrats can make is that there’s somehow this may or may not be foreign money coming into the campaign, is that the best you can do?

And so the White House has embraced an epistemological standard worthy of the birthers.

Really? You're quoting the National Review? And you expect that to lend your argument any credibility? Here's a tip: the National Review is a propaganda piece written by neocons, for neocons. It's absolutely divorced from objectivity.

Swing and a miss.

Isn't it interesting?

So, National Review is a shill for GOP but HP commentators routinely quote Media Matters, MoveOn, Center for American Progress, American Prospect, Inc, Apollo Alliance, Tides, America Coming Together, Media Fund, Thunder Road et al. So the far left groups who routinely make allegations with no proof to back them up, such as..........oh let's see.........US Chamber of Commerce & foreign donations which even NYT & a host of other left wing media outlets pointed out were baseless accusations.........but they're OK to quote....ROFL

Then we have Viacom shilling for Oduma today...........
Viacom will announce today that its cable networks BET, CMT and MTV will air a one-hour, commercial-free youth town hall with President Obama at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14. "Let's Talk: A Conversation with President Obama" - that's just lovely..............

The Washington Post, January 8, 2009: The Obama Buzzword That Hit Pay Dirt

Announcing his energy team, Obama beams about "shovel-ready projects all across the country." Unveiling his choice for education secretary, Obama plugs his plans "to start helping states and local governments with shovel-ready projects."

I know why his supporters won't hold him accountable.

They are waiting for Superman.

Instead of keeping up with the issues and how he handles them.

They look for someone, anyone, to save them.

Like Michele Rhee.

How about the tragedy of Afghanistan and Iraq?

How about his running from Fox News?

For whatever reason many of them believed the hype...the President even tried to tell folks that things were so bad (he didn't know how bad/didn't know the effect of the Blue Dogs/didn't know repubs would rather see him fail than see this country succeed) and change was going to take time and the help of ALL OF US...

I don't know why not.

He was in Congress as a US Senator two years before he ran for President.

Unlike a lot of people, I watched him.

And just like his stint in the Illinois legislature, he tried to have a nondescript record.

Just like he is trying to have as President.

you want to do something really useful. Everyone send an email to your senators and congress people and the white house for that matter and tell them to declare BEFORE the election whether or not they are going to up hold property rights for individual citizens.
BECAUSE THAT IS THE NEXT BIG ISSUE, DC is going to broker a deal with investors and banks on the foreclosure mess and destroy people's rights. Whether the rep or the dems hold DC

Now is the time to get involved! Write or call your congress and President at www.congress.org just enter your zip code.
We can rebuild America for ourselves, our children, grandchildren, and on and on in 4 steps:
1. VOTE Democratic (if you have to ask why then you don't get it) every single vote counts and your vote will cancel out the person you know and love who will vote opposite of you.
2. Followup with your congress and President regardless of which "side" they're on
3. Lend your name to petitions and/or volunteer for a candidate you admire
4. Talk to family and friends about 1-3

now is past the time to become informed of candidates that are up for election in your area. yet it's never too late until after election day. don't rely on one source, nor opinion shapers. do not , repeat do not consider faux noise, nor msnbc, nor even huff&puff as a valid source.
