Whoopi Goldberg On 'The View' Co-Hosts: 'It's Kind Of Okay To Have Other People Around' (VIDEO)

Is Whoopi Goldberg over "The View"?

That's one way of looking at her comments Tuesday morning on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Whoopi had appeared on the show to discuss hew new book, "Is It Just Me?: Or is it nuts out there?"

When the subject of the daytime talk show came up, Whoopi's tone and word choice suggest that she's not entirely in love with her job moderating the ladies at America's breakfast table.

"It's what I always hoped I'd be part of if I had to do what I'm doing," she said. "I used to have a talk show that was just me. But it's kind of okay to have other people around. I'm crabby, I get cranky, and I have to be sort of an adult because I have to moderate. I'm the wrong person to give the gig to, but I'll take it."

Whoopi added that the day-in and day-out of the job has been something new for her.

"It's kind of hard, I've never had a 9-5 job before," she said. "It's not like on a movie, where you're in a different location. This is like, 'Oh, there's my room again. Oh, and there's everybody. Okay.'"

But, despite her decidedly dejected tone, Whoopi described her job as "probably one of the best gigs in TV."

When asked whether the ladies of "The View" get along backstage, she said that she didn't think male co-hosts would be asked the same. But, she said, they all do get along well.

"I mean, we're not going to be sleeping together or anything, but we hang, kind of," she said.

A spokesperson for "The View" did not respond to a request for comment.

Thank you Whoopi and thank you Joy for standing to what is right. Your action on the view showed your respect to all people in all ethnic group. I wish Mr. O' Reily one day, will have open mind and will respect people for whom they are and not the language they speak or the God they worship. Have we ever asked our selves why it is so easy to pick on Islam as a minority. Why it is OK to bad mouth Islam. Is it because they are a small minority and have no power to defend them selves,Calling Moslems killers is so wrong. In every race and in every ethnic group, there are good people and bad people. Islam has its share of people that hurt other poeople. However, could we say all catholic are child molestors just because few priest molested children? Could we call all Mexicans are drug lords, just because there are few drug lords who happen to be Mexicans? Could we call all Christians Natzi, just because few people who support neunatzi happend to be Christians? The answer is sure not. so, why do we allow our selves to say the Moslem People are killers, Keep in mind, there 9-11 was bad day for America, bad day for Islam, and bad day for the whole world. My final word, When Bill O'Reily will wake up and see the light.And find the True ENEMY 9/11.

Why don’t you just Title this article, "I Don’t like the View” or
"I Don’t like Whoopi Goldberg" or “Get rid of the Lady with the Dreadlocks & Raspy Voice”.

Whoopi has been consistent throughout her career. Same voice, same Mannerisms, same Expressions. You would have known that if you had done your research.

Some people like her, some don’t.

I am not making any Excuse for her, BUT Her mother just DIED, not to long ago. So who knows, she may still be in a Grieving Funk. But you would have known that if you had done your research.

Just admit it, Maybe you don’t care for her, but you won’t say it like that. You will try a “Jedi Mind Trick” and suggest that Whoopi hates her Job and she is over it.

Not Cool!

On the Contrary, Whoopi has admitted that before the View asked her to come on board she had limited options.

Now she has a steady Job….and that she is Grateful to Barbara Walters, Bill Geddle & ABC.

In this current economy it is very disingenuous to suggest getting rid of someone, just because you take issue with him or her.

I can see that Whoopi gets "over it" when the focus is on "DWTS", "Jersey Shore" and the rest of the drivel the one, or two, of the other Hosts find so interesting. She, Joy and Barbra have one thing in common; sense.

Her tone is thoughtful and she is reaching for her place among these various players. That does NOT sound dejected. Mr Shea is inaccurate and even trying to make a story where there is none.

I would love a show with Whoopi and Joy, the only two ladies worth watching on the view. Their intelligence and humour makes the show interesting. Time to ditch the peroxide blond, what a dumb broad, she belongs on Faux Noise.

Come on, these reporters/writers/career killers try to kill the career of people they don't like. Talk about tabloid writing. What did Woopi do to make him hate her or try to get her off the View? Who wrote this crap? Please. Her conversation was the same as it is on the View. Its honest style is the reason she is on the View. You would think she talked about Barbara or the other girls. The lady who wrote this story should get rid of her tight underware or his tight underware.

First, if anything, Whoopi can't get past the 9 to 5 thing. If you are not with that, you don't want to deal with a bunch of bitchy women that want to talk about stuff that's ridiculous.

She show's it on her face when Sherri and Elisabeth are arguing over NOTHING. That to me says...'I can't take anymore'!

But I still like madam Guinan. :)

I was in the audience of the View this past summer. The girls of the view were all smiles while the camera was on, as soon as it went to break, they turned away from each other. They stayed to themselves and showed no indication they were anything but civil with each other, they never even interacted with the audience.

Although there are some interesting guests on The View, the women's constant rude way of interrupting one another and talking over one another is really annoying and irritating.
