Chicago Schools Take Home 'Blue Ribbon' Awards

Inside a small classroom on the Near West Side on Wednesday morning, a group of fifth-graders did everything in Italian.

Their first assignment at Andrew Jackson Language Academy was to write a sentence using the word of the day: perché (because). Several ask Signora Julie Henderson for help and after a few minutes, 10-year-old Rahul Mikkilineni reads his sentence for the class.
