Michelle Obama Repeats Sweater In Reverse (PHOTOS, POLL)

First Posted: 10/18/10 08:52 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:05 PM ET

We're used to Michelle Obama style repeats -- and we like that the First Lady wears an item multiple times, like any of us -- but this weekend Michelle not only repeated a lace-up sweater we first noticed two weeks ago, she wore it in reverse.

On October 2, while heading to Camp David, Michelle donned the navy sweater with a lace-up back, revealing a colorful blouse underneath. In Ohio on Sunday, the lace and blouse were in the front.

Take a look and tell us what you think.

Quick Poll

I prefer the sweater:

With the lace-up part in the back!

With the lace-up part in the front!

Either way! She looks great.

Neither way. I don't like it.

This sweater is entirely too small for Michelle Obama. It looks awful - I agree, it should not have been worn twice. Get a stylist!!!!

Repeating outfits is perfectly fine, and I don't even know why people need to point it out. THIS particular "sweater/backwards/forward" thing should not have been worn even ONCE. If a regular woman in everyday life wore this get-up, who would notice, or have a problem. To think that the First Lady has the resources, and the ability to wear anything she chooses, and she chooses stuff like this is just unbelievable.

Liking the lace-up sweater, and the flowy thing beneath, but perhaps not together. That sweater could be quite sexy over a tank top or camisole. How about worn backwards over nothing?

How do we know that she didn't put it on backwards?

Versatility! It's reversible!
My only criticism, more like a caution I guess, is watch it when putting a tight/snug layer over a loose/flowing one. Makes the snug part look tighter than it is, I think. The sweater probably ought to be a size bigger for this combo. Put it over a sleek tank and it's good as is.
It's an issue of the clothing's proportions, not hers, so don't anybody think I'm saying that.
I think it can be great to wear things in ways they may not have been intended. And Michelle O is smart and creative. People who dare will sometimes make mistakes, but it is better than being afraid to look "different".
She has true style.

True style.....Lord help us.

The sweater is just too small no matter which way you turn it.

Dunno why she likes her sweaters so tight in the arms. I never see anyone else wearing them like that. It can also be tricky putting a tight sweater over a loose garment cause it bunches up and and looks lumpy. The idea of the lace-up sweater is cute, though.

I can't say that I like the backwards look a la Kriss Kross but I love that hanky shell underneath. And she still looks great.

Can't say it is one of my favorite pieces but hey .....Work it First Lady!!!!!

Hot Damn! Mrs. O is original.

Love the sweater front and backwards.

Love how creative she is.

Watch and learn haters. She's here to stay. ;-)

I don't like this blouse/sweater either coming or going. The first time the First Lady wore it there seemed to be a string or something hanging down the back. Anyhow please don't tell me I'm a H8ter because I am a great fan of the First Lady and if she ran for office I would be happy to vote for her. She is always a lady and we all have differing tastes.

It isn't my favorite look either but it does look comfortable and casual. And you are right, some of my faviorite go to's probably wouldn't be someone else's favorite. And that is as it should be.

It's just that most of us have to go to our favorite go-tos much more often than Michelle does.

I love this sweater! And I'd wear it both ways, too.

I really love this sweater and would love to buy one myself. It's chic yet almost avant garde. And it's versatile. Also, I'm always struck by how photogenic President Obama is. I've never seen him look bad in a photo. Never. There's something about the way intelligence and warmth radiates from him. He's magnetic.
