Pregnant Celine Dion Hospitalized

NEW YORK — Celine Dion has been admitted to a Florida hospital to prevent the early delivery of her twins.

The superstar singer is at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. The hospital said in a statement the admission was recommended to make sure she's near her doctors leading up to the babies' birth. Her rep said she is due to deliver the twins early next month.

Dion announced earlier this year that she's pregnant with two boys. She had tried for years to have more children. She and her husband, Rene Angelil, are the parents of a 9-year-old son, Rene Charles.

She is due the beginning of November according to her rep so she's at the very least 36-37 weeks along? 37 weeks is considered "full term." Every day of gestation counts but congratulations, Celine. Well done!!

I hope she's able to get as close to full term as she can with those babies. As a mother of a micropreemie, its definitely a challenging experience.

I know she tried for years to get pregnant and I wish her well but she is 42 and her husband is a 70-year-old cancer survivor. I get that she has the resources for nannies, etc., but if I was in her shoes I would have just cherished the healthy child I had. She will, in all likelihood, be a widow in less than 10 years with three minor children.

From the little I know of her, I think she will be a devoted and good mother, and she certainly has the resources to take care of her kids.

At age 42, she is on the bleeding edge of being pregnant. Quite a few dangers for both her and the children. Perhaps she should have thought about adoption.
