'Tweet It': The Michael Jackson/Twitter Mash-Up You Knew Was Coming (VIDEO)

First Posted: 10/18/10 05:02 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:05 PM ET

It may be too late for Michael Jackson to see this very well-done parody of "Beat It" by Pantless Knights, but we think even the King Of Pop would have gotten a kick out of it. In this musical send-up you knew would (eventually) happen, iPad users and iPhone users face off in a dark alley to the catchy Twitter anthem set to the M.J. classic. Not only is it a pretty accurate shot-by-shot remake of theoriginal "Beat It" video, it's also hilarious. Keep an ear out for the line about Justin Bieber! (Via Mashable)

No, I didn't know it was coming. And having seen it, I wish it hadn't come. Apparently, I continue to overestimate humanity.

What is with the fawning over this parody in the article?

It's a parody of a song that came out almost 28 years ago that was famously parodied almost identically over 26 years ago.

Is it really that impressive to add Twitter to something Weird Al did over 2 and a half decades ago?

Really good, but it's not a mashup at all. It's a parody, no different that Weird Al's version years ago.

A mashup is two or more songs put together - not changing the lyrics of a song.

I swear, HuffPo needs a full-time headline editor who actually knows what words mean.

Rather than one that knows what words get clicks?

There are sites that I don't go to anymore because the headlines don't match the information inside.

I'm not a big fan of bait and switch, not sure why you don't have a problem with it.
