Waste Of Money

Wallet Pop:

It's been a rough few years. Unemployment woes, foreclosure fears and economic uncertainty rule the headlines. It's a time where being frugal has become chic and "tightening our belts" de rigueur.

With this in mind, and inspired by reader submissions to our Biggest Money Wasters message board, we've compiled our list of 9 Top Ways We Waste Money in 2010.

Then move to Somalia I hear they pay NO Federal Taxes. It is a Country totally run by the "Ptivate" Sector. You should feel right at home there.

We set our furnace at 66 to 68 degrees in the winter. We have no problem putting on a sweatshirt or grabbing a throw when we are watching tv. Plus it makes us snuggle in the winter months.
In the summer we set the air at approx 80. If we are outside working, that 80 degrees really feels good when we come in. We will set it a little lower for sleeping at night. NO snuggling! stay on your side and NO touching! LOL

Guilty as charged. Unfortunately, I do most of the things on this list (and a lot more). And yes, it's mostly through laziness and convenience - the two things that are killing us as a species.

But at least I'm helping the economy, right?

1. Turn off lights when you are not in that room.
2. Turn off Computer when you are not using it.
3. Buy products on sale or in bulk when possible. Such as toilet paper....it's not reusable. LOL
4. If you have a family buy the Sunday paper only for the coupons. It pays for itself especially if you have a family.
5.Toilet flushing....if it's yellow, let it mellow, if it's brown flush it down. If you have company you may not want to do this. :)
6. Pay your bills before you get charged a late fee.
7. if you purchase take out food and get plastic silverware hold onto them for your next get together such as family reunion rather than use and throw away.
8. Lots of fruits and vegetables stay fresher if you refridgerate them such as bananas.
9. When you buy pasta, freeze the box for a couple of days in the freezer. That will kill any weebles.
10. Refridgerate and or freeze flours/sugars, etc....
I have a lot more ways to save. These are just a few.
