Chicago Restaurants Get Creative With Pumpkin Dishes

First Posted: 10/21/10 10:53 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:05 PM ET

Fall in Chicago is pretty perfect. The weather tends to behave, the streets are lined with vibrant colored trees and we are reminded of youth with Halloween candy and pumpkins being sold on corner lots. If you want to make the most of this glorious season, you should do more than carve that pumpkin--you should eat it.

We rounded up a few places around the city that have pumpkin-y treats on their menus. These will not last--so get them while you can.

If we missed a place with some good pumpkin eats, let us know!

Pan de Muerto – This great aromatic traditional Mexican treat is a warm, buttery "dia de los muertos (day of the dead)" bread sandwiched with brown-butter caramel ice cream. It has piloncillo (raw sugar)-poached pumpkin, quince and Bartlett pear.
