Taking Candy From Strangers: The Best & Worst Halloween Treats

It's an annual ritual: Debating whether candy corn shouldn't be restricted to the confines of a single holiday, or if it's a devilish scourge that should be banished altogether. Are Smarties awesome or awfully similar to eating chalk? Will you get TP'd if you hand out raisins? Should people even be giving out caramel apples? That sort of thing.

When I was a kid in my old hood, this very nice lady gave out plums. It was an Italian neighborhood and one would ever think of throwing eggs or TP the house. She was a nice lady and the mother of someone that would hurt you, but we did get the teachers house and a cop that lived in the neighborhood.

I would eat candy with every meal if I could. I know it's bad for me, but honestly, I don't smoke, don't do drugs, and I can count the amount of alcoholic drinks on one hand that I have per year. Also, I've only ever had ONE cavity, and I didn't go to the dentist for an embarrassingly long time...I guess I just have good teeth? Reese's cup are far and away my favorite candy! My boyfriend's favorite are Reese's Pieces. We're a match made in heaven ;) I think the only things on this list I don't like are Good and Plenty's (VOMIT) and Mary Jane candies.

You can't say Mary Jane without snickers from pot heads. I seriously do wonder if there's any connection between the candy name and the drug. The candy has been around forever!

My dad was a dentist, we used to give out toothbrushes. My sister and I were mortified. It's not the most healthful thing in the world, but I order a bunch of honey sticks and give those out. Been doing it for 5 years and my place gets hammered with kids who want honey.

The snack i liked I can't find anymore. Like thoughs delicious carmel popcorn rounds topped with a vanilla cream chocolate ball squished on it. Anyone remember though? Not sure the proper name for them.
