Christine O'Donnell Attacked By Democratic Rival Over Witchcraft, Evolution, Mice & More (VIDEO)

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 10/22/10 08:18 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 07:05 PM ET

Democratic candidate Chris Coons, who is vying to defeat Republican rival Christine O'Donnell in Delaware's U.S. Senate race, is out with a new attack ad targeting the conservative hopeful on a host of controversies that have rocked her campaign.

Running with the theme music of the 1960's television show "The Twilight Zone," the 30-second seeks to highlight some of the Tea Party favorite's most infamous lines.

"Christine O'Donnell says a lot of strange things," says a narrator before footage of O'Donnell herself is injected into the attack. "I'm not a witch... Evolution is a myth... Scientific companies are cross-breeding humans and animals and coming up with mice with fully-functioning human brains!"

The ad's narrator then chimes back in and say, "Huh?" The culmination of the spot then zeroes-in on the work Coons has been doing on behalf of voters in his state.

Analysis conducted by HuffPost Pollster suggests that Coons is favored to become Delaware's next senator at the culmination of the state's midterm election race.

Uh, we already know that unless there is some sort of miracle for O'Donnell, she's toast.

Let's focus on Rand and Angle and spend the money there. I cannot believe Angle is ahead, but after talking to a couple of her supporters they think the crazy talk is made up by the media and that she never said those things.

So who's crazier? Her or her supporters.

I agree with most of this thread. No need to waste anymore money. She's basically made her own bed. Kick back and enjoy the ride the victory.......but then.....

Didn't we do this with Bush? We thought for sure he would not get a second term. Hmmmm, maybe not spend anymore money on ads, but keep a sharp eye and a ready tongue.

AT this point I would NOT spend any more money running against O'Donnell! She has pretty much torched her own chances. Better Luck in 2012 Christine. Hope you saved plenty of your campaign money to live on until then!

This race is over. What are the Dems wasting money here.

Let me just make one thing perfectly clear.

I have NEVER advocated the use of nuclear weapons against Delaware.

I'm not sure Coons needed an ad like this. At the same time, it's not unfair. But I remember in the debate he called these things distractions and unimportant. To bring it up in the debate in that way, and then to approve this message, means Coons, to some degree, talks out of both sides of his mouth. Shocking for a politician, I know.

FOX News has been involved in the battle against Evolution.
They have created a sub species of humans with fully functioning mouse brains.
I am not a withch? She is trying to turn otherwise intelligent people into mice and thanks to the witches and warlocks at FOX it's working.

My cat's breath smells like catfood. Sharon, Christine and I had a long Twitter discussion about it. It's the Democrats fault.

The same thing has been said about Christine. You sure that wasn't Chrissy shapeshifting again?

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

She reads "Flowers for Algernon" and believes that mice have human brains?

I sure hope they don't decide to re-make "Mr. Ed"... :-)

F/F! I thought final(ist) had something to do with coming to an end of something, but they just take a licking and keep on ticking, don't they?
I thought it was:
Christine ODodo
S'error Failin'
Obtuse Angle
Meg Witlessman
Miss Hell Mockman
Oily Taters
Jan Brew-ha-ha for Miss Arizona, she's just trying to get ahead of Terry Goddard . . . or maybe just find heads for those mythical headless bodies found in the desert. Note that Obtuse Angle didn't want to be runner-up to Jan, and came up with a mythical border between NV and Mexico, another Faux fear factor fantasy of phobias of foreigners!

Frankly, I'm not sure who has done what to whom. And I don't really much care.

What I do care about is the apparent seriousness with which the electorate has believed in witchcraft-No insults to White Witches intended. To project black witchcraft being practised by your political opponent-and for people to take it seriously-belongs in the fourteenth century. Someone ought to inform the electorate it is now two thousand and ten years AD.

Did you watch the video above - her words, no one else. "Ye shall reap what you sew". Oh, right it's 2010, so, that is not valid.

As a Democrat, I am frustrated by all the attention our party has given to this race, which apparently is not and never has been at all close. The money, the visits by party dignitaries, etc., are wonderful for Mr. Coons, but if he doesn't need them, would they not be more wisely spent in locations where Democrats are in tight races, or in races where they are behind. It is frustrating to hear that the party has "given up" on Blanche Lincoln and withdrew national money from her campaign, only to hear of another visit by a dignitary or another publicity push in this state, where the outcome is already virtually certain. Governor Kaine needs to pay a bit more attention to resource and personnel distribution in these closing days of the campaign.

Christine say scientists are putting human brains in rats, huh. Well someone must have given O'Donnell the rats' brain. What a dumb women. This is why she has run for office three different times and loss.
