Gay GOP Group Mocks Democratics As 'Real Housewives' (VIDEO)

GOProud, a gay conservative group, is out with a new ad mocking key Democrats in Washington as tragically flawed people, like the women of Bravo's "Real Housewives of D.C."

"If you thought the housewives were dysfunctional, wait until you meet the real Democrats of Washington D.C." the ad's narrator reads, showing pictures of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.).

"They're catty," the ad continues, using a word choice that seems to be taking an apparent dig at the openly-gay Frank. A clip of an irate Frank confronting an anti-Obama constituent at a town hall meeting over the summer then plays.

"They're arrogant," the narrator says, showing Boxer and playing a notorious clip of her asking a military officer to refer to her as "senator" as opposed to "ma'am."

"And they're in charge," the ad continues, showing Pelosi. "Under Democrats, reality bites," the narrator concludes.

Politico reports that the ad will air on Lifetime and Bravo.

In your lifetime, you will not see a majority of GOP politicians vote in favor of gay rights like the majority of Democrats have done in the last few years.

If marriage and equal rights aren't important to you, then by all means, keep voting republican.

It's probably not fair for me to criticize because I don't understand the mindset,

but I'd be surprised to find a more self-loathing group than the GOProud and Log Cabin Repubs.

Do they claim that the Far Right doesn't represent them, because they are the extreme?

Seriously, how do they defend some of the anti-gay rhetoric and actions of the right?

GOProud is a joke.... these are the same people that actually paid Anne Coulter to lecture them on how undeserving they are of equal marriage rights... does anything more really need to be said? This lifelong gay Democrat WELCOMES the activism of any gay man or lesbian of any political philosophy who seeks to hold the Democratic Party accountable for the way it has contemptuously treated the gay community for two years.

And I couldn't care less what straight Democrats want to say now after having stood on the sidelines and silently watched it unfold for two years, wallowing in privilege and sneering that the gay community has nowhere else to go and will just take whatever abuse the party doles out.

Guess what? Our legislative agenda is dead no matter who wins. Given that stark reality, I say it is time to take all those Democratic knives out of our backs and bury them as deeply as we can in the back of the Democratic Party.

Do you really want the GOP in a position of power? Do we really want to add "destructive" to disruptive and obstructive? To those who seem to have lost the ability to look ahead:look back a decde or so. The GOP agenda has not, and will not change. It's all about getting you to put your money where they would prefer to see it go - out of your pockets and into theirs. What straight-thinking person could possibly want that?

GOProud, a gay conservative group? A gay group that supports the anti-gay language that permeates the GOP political platform? I suppose it’s possible. My guess would be they are under pressure to find members but are well enough funded to produce and air TV commercials.

As a african american gay man...i can't understand how this group or log cabin republicans can identify as republican and proud after how horribly Republicans treat them. They are one of the main reasons gays cant be open in the military or get married. I feel the same with African americans who identify as republicans. These people just boggle my mind!

You mean there are some African Americans who think only for themselves, and don't give a s*** about all of those who are stuck in ghetto conditions because they didn't get the same breaks. I know that those who have made good probably worked hard for their position, but there are thousands of hard-working, intelligent blacks who never got the opportunity to improve their condition.

And how about all of those who fought, suffered, and died to give other blacks even the slightest chance to be accepted in White America. How many of them do you think would be Republicans today?
