Scott Kimball Investigated In Seattle Prosecutor's 2001 Murder

Tom Wales, an 18-year veteran with the U.S. Attorney's office in Seattle, made his way to the basement of his home on the evening of Oct. 11, 2001, and sat down in front of his computer. Minutes later, the 49-year-old father of two was shot and fatally wounded by someone taking aim from the backyard.

The cold-blooded murder, which made headlines across the country, has confounded investigators for more than nine years. They've focused most of their energy on a potentially disgruntled Seattle businessman whom Wales had unsuccessfully prosecuted in a federal fraud case, but to no avail.
