City Of Denver Likely To Pay $136,000 After Police Car Causes Near-Fatal Accident

The Denver City Council is poised to agree to pay $136,000 today to settle a claim of a woman who allegedly suffered a traumatic brain injury after a Denver police officer drove his squad car into her vehicle as it crossed a street.

The claim alleged that about 11 p.m. on June 21, 2008, Officer Wilbur Hall III drove his squad car at high speed, without emergency lights or siren, and struck Renae Raymond's vehicle as it crossed 6th Avenue from a stop sign on St. Paul Street.
