Keukenhof is very nice. I am from The Netherlands and sadly I never got the change to visit myself.
(seen lots of photos though)

I went to the Keukenhof Gardens in May 2005 with my husband, while on our honeymoon. I loved it there, so beautiful. Its a must see, if your gonna visit or live in the Netherlands....

I have to plead Butchart as my favorite. I'm lucky enough to work there in the
Entertainment Dept. during the summer months. Most folks don't know that they're
open 365 days a year, and have a spectacular Winter/Xmas display. Of course,
being on Vancouver Island, gardens are a no-brainer, everything grows like crazy
here (Beacon Hill Park in Victoria is quite nice as well).

As a painter of watercolor florals, I'd have a great time in such beautiful places.

The only one I've been able to visit is Butchart Gardens in Victoria, B.C. and it was spectacular in the spring, but with all the Japanese Maples, it is also supposed to be gorgeous in the fall.

Agreed! The Butchart Gardens are spectacular. I was only 12 when we went back in the 80's but it made a lasting impression. I would love to take my boyfriend to Victoria, as he has never been there, and it's only a hop, skip and ferry ride from here (Portland). Time to get that passport......

I live near Balboa Park in San Diego. I do agree it is beautiful, however, it does not deserve the cred it gets because they don't grow the flowers there. I went one day and the pictured garden was all dug up, two days later...by some sort of botanical magic, there were flowers of all sorts in newly packed soil. So, you tell me. The rose garden is legit though.

FAIL. Left out of this list are the most gorgeous gardens in the northern hemisphere: Longwood Gardens, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.

Then you have never seen the Netherlands one.... First time was this year and I can't get it out of my mind. Now besides the red light district, the canals, the coffee shops, the Jordan, the Van Gough paintings, the great people you have another reason to visit this wonderful country.

I was about to post that too

Thanks for sharing such beautiful gardens. I hope that someday I get to visit all these. But even if I don't, just looking at the pictures is good for me because even the simple act of looking at a picture of a flower is good for your health. It can lower your blood pressure, relieve stress and lift your mood. Check out the happy images at http://toddinreallife.com/#/happy-images/4537942776 for pictures & videos of mood lifting images.

When I was a child, my parents used to take us to Bellingrath Gardens near Mobile, AL, every few years. I always loved it.

They left out Longwood Gardens in PA. Made by the Dupont family, and they used to live there. It is huge. And gorgeous. Hours and hours worth of walking around. Indoor and outdoor displays of flowers, hothouses, roses, trees, ponds full of water lilies, fountain displays... it is pretty amazing.
