Steven Slater: 'I'm Finally Free!' (VIDEO)

Now famous former JetBlue flight attendant gave his first interview Tuesday night to, who else, Larry King.

In response to passengers stating that Slater was rude to them on the flight, Slater quipped "I wouldn't deny that one bit, they got me at a bad, bad time."

He talks to King about that fateful flight, including what he was thinking when he jumped down the emergency chute: "I'm free, I'm finally free."

Actually I was rooting for this guy in the beginning as I thought what he did was funny. But the more he talks about it, the less enthused I am about him and I bet he was someone you wouldn't wanna work with.

Since posting here the first time, I have seen the full Larry King interview. What dribble, what rubbish from this guys mouth. He consumed his first brewskie during the flight. No doubt to ease the terrible pain suffered from his head injury, suffered while assisting a lady with her over-sized bag. Oh how annoying for him.which none of the passengers could confirm. He had the nerce to appear with a publicist in tow, discussing the deals and options they are currently weighing! What hero needs a publicist?This guy is a piece of work, and i really hope he disapears soon. Yukkers.

True, but sometimes we want to, and that's the reason we cheered him on. I know I kept thinking "Wow, I'd love to do something like that to my rude customers." Of course, in the end I didn't, because I have to be a mature, responsible adult and I need to pay my bills.

He didn't just do it to his (allegedly) rude customers. He made sure that every man, woman, and child on that plane was subjected to his profanity-laced tirade (I can curse up a storm, but I consider is in hearing range). Imagine not knowing what was going on and hearing that. And that's just one part of his little tantrum. He's a nut.

The US Airline industry is a sad shame. Makes USA look like a 3rd world country. Service is a joke. Sat on a flight from NYC to LA near the galley. 6 hours of listening to flight attendants talk. I heard it ALL. No "would you like more water?" It was a 6 hour chat fest with no service. 0.

I have nightmares about losing it at work. My most painful one: loud, noisy people yelling to each other or on the cell phone. Usually right in front of my office.

Sometimes I can see myself getting up and telling someone what a jerk they are when their loud, loud, LOUD phone conversation disturbs the people trying to sleep on the subway. It is so easy to see that those people have such a rough deal....

I find this kind of lack of consideration very sad. First, it just takes one and lots of us has just a little bit of a worse day. Second, if we don't give each other consideration and politeness, we are rejecting the other person entirely because in our society that is ALL we can really do for each other.

While I agree with you I ask the same question about many politicians, TV anchors, and other public figures. This guy is quite a prince compared to some of the public figures of our days.
