New Giuliani Portrait Unveiled At City Hall

Posted: Updated:

The official portrait of former mayor Rudy Giuliani was unveiled at City Hall yesterday. Giuliani was on hand to witness the hoisting, and to explain what took so long. "I'm superstitious about portraits," he said. "They're for dead people."

The likeness, created by artist Everett Raymond Kinstler, is certainly a flattering look at the city's last mayor (sometimes referred to as "America's Mayor").

As DNAinfo describes it:

"The three-quarter length oil painting by artist Everett Raymond Kinstler features Giuliani looking jovial and years younger, with a smooth forehead and wide, dimpled smile."

True, it certainly is an improvement on his previous portrait.
