LeBron James' Heat Debut Sets Ratings Record On TNT

LeBron James may not have led the Miami Heat to victory in his debut with the team Tuesday night, but he was certainly a ratings hit.

The Heat-Celtics game attracted a record audience for TNT, drawing the most viewers ever for a regular-season basketball game on cable.

The season opener drew 7.4 million total viewers.

The previous record, from 14 years ago, was held by a late-season Chicago Bulls game featuring Michael Jordan.
