When the history of this era is written, Exxon will be in the same league as the pirates and robber barons of past eras.

Coal, oil and insurance companies are spending heavily for Republicans.

Will the US ever see a national energy policy? Will alternative energy ever
help reduce our reliance on foreign oil and dirty coal? NO not if Republicans
can help it.

Our economic security and national security depend on our transition to
alternative energy.

Will Americans be fooled by the phony front groups supported by big oil?

Imagine the difference they could make if only they would use their profits for good instead of evil.

Hey fellow Californians ~ Please VOTE "NO" on Prop 23. Let the Koch Bros. know they can't pollute our air and lungs and get away with it! Grrrrrr ☮

And if you're so inclined "YES" on Prop 19 (legalizing pot :o)

When a company runs ads promoting its products over a competitors, I feel that is not so bad.
If, however, they are running ads trying to promote the idea that scientists are wrong about global warming, then those companies are doing a great disservice to mankind.

advertising: one of the great sins/abuses of our day. drives up costs, manipulates people. works against real, meaningful change.

Hey, it's a 'tax deduction'. It's how corporations 'breath' while puffing on toxic cigarettes of manufactured from the profit plant genetically engineered to resist the 'Round Up Obama Pesticide'.

Disinformation campaigns cost money but considering that 0.247 Billion is penny change compared to the 500-700Billion that the US population spends on oil every year...and that's not counting any dirty coal profits....It all stems from their ability to own our govt officials with their legalized Bribes...aka lobbying etc.

Plutocracy isn't good for the US population or our environment...or our national security.

Ok is that horrible. You are saying what. EM just reported 7b for a single quarter. 247 is what 3% of just 1 companies profit for a single quarter. Most of those Ads push this silly green Wind and Solar nonsense.

Wasteful spending for sure; more money needs to be spent on technology for "worse case scenarios" such as spills & clean up ... it makes one wonder if a profit can be made doing what is right and honorable.

their "solar" or "wind" commercials are just smoke and mirrors folks.....these fossil fuel fas*cists (FFF) want to use up evedy molecule of fossil fuel on this planet and pollute the earth and its people into non-existence.....

It would be nice if some smart person direct me to a valid / impartial group that keeps track of the spending for elections. I would like to find out the top 10 companies / organizations and top 10 individuals that contributed to the election. Medium size oil like ExxonMobil (really big oil companies are owned by countries) spends money. What other groups spend money? Did ExxonMobil or BP spend more than groups or organizations that are considered liberal? Also, when all is said and done, it will be interesting to find out what political group spent the most money

Dirty Energy? So would nuclear energy be considered Clean Energy since only water vapor comes out of the stacks that we see in the pictures?
