HuffPost Celebrates Its 2010 Game Changers With Geoffrey Canada, Sean Penn, Mayor Bloomberg & More (PHOTOS)

The Huffington Post celebrated its 2010 Game Changers Thursday evening at Skylight Studios in SoHo. Sean Penn, who was named a 2010 Game Changer, was honored by Anderson Cooper for his work in Haiti. Mayor Cory Booker (a game changer himself) honored Biz Stone and Livia McRee for their amazing philanthropy work. Jann Wenner had reason to celebrate as he honored two Rolling Stone game changers: Matt Taibbi and Michael Hastings.

Game Changers Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, Nora Ephron, Bethenny Frankel, Prabal Gurung, Mika Brzezinski, Paulina Porizkova, Gayle King, Geoffrey Canada, and Ted Olson were also in attendance. Here are the photos!

Why is the Huffington Post glorifying Cory Booker, a man whose 2010 budget cuts have forced the Newark Public Library to close 20% of its 10 branches, to reduce service at remaining branches to Weds-Thu-Fri (and at Main Library to Wed-Thu-Fri-Sat), and impose 2 furlough days per week on all library employees? He has raised $240 million for parks, police, and "education," but can't find $1mil to restore library services for Newark's 280,000+ residents? A true game changer would be a public official who steps up and affirms the importance and value of public libraries in America, not one who undermines and obstructs libraries' proven success and commitment to "helping others help themselves." ... Further budget cuts proposed by Booker for Newark Public Libraries in 2011 will close 50% of the city's branches, reduce staff by an additional 30% (on top of a 17% reduction in 2010), and shut down the entire library system for 3 or more weeks. None of the people you mentioned are Christian televangelists but then admitting the truth is an inconvenience to you. My church has had people on the ground in Haiti since the earthquake. We are doing what we can.

I am glad Sean is doing what he believes in but he is not game changer. He wants to change America to a socialist country.
