Gillibrand: Paladino's 'Little Girl' Comment Offensive

AP:

ALBANY, N.Y. — New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino's reference to her as a "little girl" is offensive and unacceptable.

Paladino at a state Capitol rally Friday said the state's junior senator just follows orders from fellow Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer. Paladino called Gillibrand Schumer's "little girl."

Gillibrand says Paladino's remarks were "offensive to women and unacceptable in any circumstance."

Gillibrand, who is running for the seat she was appointed to last year, says she takes a back seat to no one. She called Paladino's campaign a disservice to New Yorkers.

Gillibrand faces Republican Joe DioGuardi (dee-oh-GWAHR'-dee) on Tuesday.

Polls show Paladino trailing against Democrat Andrew Cuomo.THE HUFFINGTON POST:When approached by YNN, Paladino today reaffirmed his statement, again repeating that Gillibrand is Schumer's 'little girl'.
