The Arts page last week focused on a lot of strange and disturbing art, perfect for the Halloween spirit. From the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead to Kara Walker's newest project, from contemporary Berlin art to Timothy Haskell's New York haunted house, from the opening of the Dali Museum to the final chapter in River Phoenix's film oeuvre, our posts have run the gamut from spooky to inspiring.

THE NEW DALI MUSEUM OPENS JANUARY 11, 2011
WHY IT'S HIGHLIGHTED: The newly revamped Dali Museum will open 1/11/11 at 11:11 AM. Her Royal Highness Infanta Christina of Spain will be in attendance. The new museum was built like a fortress for hurricane protection. The whole thing is completely bizarre (dare we say surreal?). Dali would be proud.
