The Castro in San Francisco used to be the best Halloween celebration in the country. Unfortunately an influx of gangs and hooligans in recent years has greatly diminished it.

The city of Rutland, Vermont has been holding Halloween Parades for 51 years. Went last night and it was so cold, but no one noticed with all the great floats, bands, skeletons and vampires. Wish I had a photo to post. The Thriller dance was performed at the finale of the two hour parade, by the Skeles and Wannabees with EVERYone joining in. Great spooky fun!
Hope someone posts a video on YouTube.

During my 15 year stint in L.A., I spent most of my Halloweens cruising down Santa Monica Boulevard taking in the sights. And what sights they were.

Pictures I will one day share with my grandchildren.

Whoooaaa!___ They are missing the oldest and one of the great Halloween events,,,In Anoka ,Minnesota, they have a big celebration and parade,,,it goes back to 1920 ! Look at the Minnesota Historical Society Facebook site and you will see the piece about this 90 yr old celebration.

Portland, ME really gets into Halloween. I once won a "sexiest costume" award when I was over 8 months pregnant with my first child (he was born Nov 17th.). I was a pregnant "punk" complete with diaper pins through my ears and green hair. A lot of people during the evening asked me if I was really pregnant. I sure was. My prize for the costume? A penis pencil top eraser! I always wanted to take it to a meeting and just toy with it near my lips looking very business like and serious.
