First Posted: 11/03/10 09:43 AM ET   Updated: 05/25/11 07:10 PM ET

Sometimes all it takes is getting outside. City planners must have known this for years, as there are several U.S. cities with outstanding waterfront walks.

From the more famous, like San Antonio's River Walk, to the more obscure but still pleasant like Philadelphia, these 10 cities all offer scenic walks along their stunning waterfronts.

For the image of the Chicago river walk, it would have been nice to use an image that wasn't nearly a decade old.

Also, there's partial river walk on both sides of the river.

Cannot believe that the brush creek walk on the Plaza in midtown KC didn't make it. I mean, for christs sake, Wheel of Fortune uses views of it in their background behind the contestants, must be beautiful!
