noone will bring up the fact that the South and the gun-toting midwest, hates the idea of an african american president. Noone seems to talk about this.

The media narrative on the 2010 mid-term elections is wrong but people are still embracing it. The voters did not repudiate the Obama agenda nor did they embrace the Republican's rhetoric. Three things cost the Democrats:
1) Democrats ran from the policies of a popular President and the change his election signified (for example: instead of explaining the benefits of healthcare reform, many avoided the conversation or regretted their votes).
2) Democrats didn't work together to send a consistent message to the American people (loyalty to the President and to their base was nowhere in sight as candidates tried to get people who were never going to support them to vote instead of trying to get their base to the polls)
3) the Media not only allowed but promoted the mythology of the Republican party (FOX created the story and the rest of the media followed along without question).

Last night was a disaster for this Country as less than 40% of eligible voters cast ballots in most races and everyone will pay for their apathy.

I agree with you. It is like the American people never learn. We have to keep doing the same ridiculous lessons over and over again because we don't pay attention.

I truly believe the lack of a consistent message cost the Dems. To me, that goes all the way to the top.

Keep in mind, Republicans define Fidelity Investments as a small business. How? They have thousands of employees. The company makes millions. But it's privately owned by just a few people. Republicans classify these mega-rich as small business owners because the number of owners is small. The Republican "mom and pop shop" rhetoric fooled a lot of people.

Manchin's TV Ad showing him shooting a hole in the HC bill, put him over the top.

The Dems that won, won because they ran from Mr. Obamas agenda. Accept it.

I wonder how many Dems switch party in the next month.

You fit right in with the mob of shallow people the GOP was counting on. People I admire, and those I trust, have core principles that do not waver in a light breeze or a stiff wind.

There's something definitely wrong with your thinking. You'd better check your genes - they may need washing. Fortunately for me, I've got the progressive gene, but who knows what's floating around in your system - they haven't discovered what makes GOP brains work yet.
