'Skating With The Stars' Cast Includes Bethenny Frankel, Vince Neil & More

LOS ANGELES — A real housewife, a rocker, an Olympian and three actors are part of the inaugural season of "Skating With the Stars."

ABC announced the cast of its new competition show Tuesday during "Dancing With the Stars."

Reality star Bethenny Frankel, Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, ski champ Jonny Moseley and actors Sean Young, Rebecca Budig and Brandon Mychal Smith will take to the ice when the new show premieres on Nov. 22.

The show will have a similar format to "Dancing," with stars learning new routines each week and performing them for judges scores and viewer votes.

I'm really getting tired of ABC's loose interpretation of the term "star". Who the hell is Bethenny Frankel? This is a big reason why we've become a second-rate world power--excellence has taken a backseat to mediocrity.

It's a shame, really.

Bethenny F is a chef who went to a quick culinary school but never worked in a professional kitchen. Instead, she started her own "natural" muffin business and cooked as a private chef to those who would pony up $1,000 for the night (as she disclosed). She also has bounced around the Reality Show circuit for years, trying to "build her brand" based on simply: being. The more exposure she gets, the more viewers of this non entity think she's a somebody. She is a self ascribed "Martha Steward meets Carrie Bradshaw" persona (her own definition). This is her view. Many fans swallow her snarkisms and diet books as something real. To each, his own... I find her too self indulgent and overly annoying with her mocking negativity of anyone who doesn't acquiesce to her every command.

Thank you! At 40 she doesn't have a clue as to what is important in her life - drinking during her pregnancy, turning her back on those who can no longer do anything for her, being on her FOURTH reality show, and just plain not knowing how to play nice with others, but hiding it behind "I just say it like it is".

If it's not Olympic quality skating I don't think many will watch. Skating is hard and dancing on ice is even harder. Watching a bunch of amateurs attempt this will be funny at first; especially Vince Neil! I wonder what kind of insurance that show has to have to ask quasi-celebrities to risk life & limb?

I think it's disgusting that ABC can steal the theme of a Canadian Show which is in it's 2nd season- Battle of the Blades- and get away with it- oh yes, I remember, America thinks it's the most powerful country in the world and can do what it wants!
Such arrogance- and the country has shown that they don't want Obama's brand of humility but prefer their own self-aggrandizement... grrr.
Glad I live in Canada!!!
