Scott Jordan Creates 33-Pocket Carry-On Coat (VIDEO)

This time we're not kidding when we say this thing is pretty cool. Scott Jordan has created a line of travel-savvy clothing called ScooteVest that doubles as your luggage. Yes, your luggage.

Jordan demonstrated his newest invention, the 33-pocket Carry-On Coat to Clark Howard to show how much time and money you can save when traveling.

It's an ingenious invention--think about: you can actually pack extra clothing on your body and not pay the increasingly large amount of money in baggage fees.

Check it out for yourself below:

Full disclosure, I sit on the SeV advisory board - But I will NOT travel WITHOUT this coat. I still carry a small carryon, but at 250k miles a year, anything that saves me time rocks, and I LOVE my SeV. By the time I get to the TSA Theatre, I've taken off my shoes and belt, put them in the coat. Wallet, keys, etc., in the coat. Blackberry, ticket, etc., in the coat. Coat goes thru security, I put it back on, and one by one, take things out of the coat as I'm walking away. Best. Jacket. Ever.

Good luck with that. Appear to have put much into your website and line of products (glad to see you have more practical clothing with less pockets). One suggestion, however, is you may want to come up with a pitch (or pitches) beyond saving luggage fees. Your target audience with that pitch is frequent travelers, since paying $120+ for a good jacket has an 8-trip break even with a $15 luggage charge, so it would be some time (well, 8 years) before your average annual traveler gets a benefit. It's also observable that what is in your pockets could be put in any allowed carry-on at no charge. So you may consider emphasizing other benefits; you can carry additional items beyond your carry-on, that you can easily carry important tickets, receipts, boarding passes and passports conveniently on you, or that while traveling abroad you can hide money and other important items from pickpocketers, etc. (I sometimes carry two wallets with the important one in my jacket and the decoy more accessible with a small token).

I don't want to be behind the guy wearing THAT in the security line.

They make you take your coat off and put it in a bin. But I get your point. I'd love to see one of those security units trying to check all the pockets sometime. That would be entertaining.
