Yes, Sevo! Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni Has Hit Rap Song

While addressing a huge crowd of youth supporters on Oct. 23, Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni decided to show off his rap prowess, according to the Telegraph. Saying that he had recently learned about "the black African roots of hip hop music," Museveni proceeded to wow the crowd with some lyrics of his own. A music producer captured the rhymes and later put them to beats, creating the song "U Want Another Rap?" with Fenon Records, according to their Facebook posting.

The song includes the president rapping followed by the chorus "Yes, Sevo!", which was added by the producer. Sevo is a common nickname for the president in Uganda, the Telegraph reports.

According to the Ugandan Observer:

"Wah, Wah," Museveni starts in a real bad boy voice and then says: "I can give you some rap myself." After this, he raps out a story in [the language] Runyakore about God, a wife and children. That is in the first part of the song. In the second part he raps: "Yo you want another rap?"

Mouseveni, 66, was part of the coalition that unseated dictator Idi Amin, according to his official biography. He is currently running for a fourth term in office, according to the Daily Monitor.
