Laptop Airlines

The folks at Google Chrome might just be Santa Claus this year: They are teaming up with Air Tran, Delta and Virgin America to offer free Gogo Inflight Wi-Fi on every domestic flight on those airlines from November 20th through January 2, 2011.

Chrome did this last year as well, though solely with Virgin America. Apparently they were happy enough with the response to make a repeat performance.

Learn more about the partnership here.

Quick Poll

Will the free Wi-Fi on Delta, AirTran and Virgin America change your airline choice?

No, it's not that big of a deal.

No for short flights that I sleep through entirely but definitely if the flight cost was similar to other airlines and it was a cross country trip.

It's great to keep the kids busy playing Call of Duty online on their laptops with their headphones on so mom & dad can kick back with those little booze bottles and enjoy the flight to Grandma's.

Cuz once they're there, they'll remember pretty quickly why they live 1,850 miles away from that maternal war zone.

I wonder who voted 'no its not a big deal' A flight more than a few hours could benefit from giving passengers internet access. Hulu instead of the boring in flight movie? YES!

I voted no because I have miles with US Airways, and many of their flights offer WiFi for $10-$15 or so depending on flight lenght. I would rather pay $15 and get free seats or at least a free upgrade than buy seats on another airline.
