Verizon Ipad Ad

In October, Apple and Verizon announced the end of AT&T's reign as Apple's exclusive carrier in the Unites States.

The iPad is now available from Verizon Wireless, and the first advertisement for the device is now on YouTube.

The brief ad promises "All the magic of iPad, all the nationwide power and reliability of Verizon" and offers a glimpse of the Verizon MiFi Mobile Hotspot, which comes bundled with every iPad from Verizon.

Have a look at the video and share your thoughts in the comments below. Then, check out more details on the Apple-Verizon partnership.

I need to upgrade to a smartphone, I want to get an iPad. I pretty much need both for work with the available apps. I refuse to do business with ATT after they 'screwed the pooch' for my business back in 2007 and have been with Verizon since.
But I don't want equipment that I have to assemble when I'm out of my office. Even if I do take the plunge and invest in this tech, I would hope that one MiFi would work not just with a 1gen iPad, but my laptop as well. If I need multiple ones, forget it.

Over a year ago, I really wanted the iPhone (mostly for the apps) but couldn't stomach using AT&T as my service provider. So I bought an iPod Touch and Verizon's MiFi device and had the best of both worlds. Glad to see they're doing the same thing with the iPad. It's a great combination.

You have to carry a hotspot around if you purchase the regular iPad from Apple, unless you use the iPad in a location that has free WiFi. If you don't have a personal hotspot or don't want one get your iPad with 3G and go with AT&T (which is too much money IMPO)

I have my internet service with Clear with the 4G/3G hotspot and it works great without having to pay more money for adding devices. It can run 5 at a time. I have my notebook and wireless printer/scanner for now and will add an iPad and Boxee Box soon.

A beautiful feature of the iPad is its size. So, now you'll have to haul around some Verizon junk, too? When it's built-in, I'll consider it.

Looks like that is coming very very soon!

MiFi to access the internet via WiFi. Defeats the purpose of cellular integrated into the iPad. Having to carry a second device is pretty dumb when the Palm Pre can act as a MiFi hotspot. Many smart phones can be used as a MiFi device. Use your current smart phone as a MiFi for the iPad then call it a day. Dumb marketing idea. Just another revenue stream for Verizon.

Finally the relationship between Verizon and Apple heating up. The only downside is that you have to carry around the hotspot that has data usage restrictions on it. Think im going to put my money aside for the Verizon Iphone for now.

The problem is that Verizon uses a unique radio transmission technology, which essentially provided an over-priced lock-in to the user. If you wish to change carriers, throw out your iPad. Until carrier lock-up is prohibited in the United States, there will never be true competition and lower prices.

This was a long time coming. Hopefully this will make the two companies provide better service. AT&T has been horrendous! A little competition can only make things more interesting.

The MiFi from Verizon is very small, and will can fit comfortably in your pocket, bag, or purse. Plus, you can get a carrying case to put it in. And...well...if you don't like that, just duct tape the thing to to back of the iPad. :-D

Verizon is so much better than AT&T but do I really have to carry that little wireless hot spot with me everywhere? I'm not buying.

The early adopters will have to carry that thing around but I suspect that the iPad 2 for Verizon will have it inbuilt or have something completely different that doesn't require to be carried around like that. It'll be the most logical step for the folks at Apple to take.

It will change. Apple is making the new iPad to be multi frequency, so it can loaded right into Verizons or anyone else's network. iPad 2
