10 Airlines With The Happiest Employees (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/10/2010 4:25 pm   Updated: 05/25/2011 7:10 pm

CareerBliss, a website dedicated to helping people be happy at work, recently released their list of the airlines with the happiest employees.

The list includes 8 factors: growth opportunity, compensation, benefits, work-life balance, career advancement, senior management, job security and whether the employee would recommend the company to others.

Despite a crazy year for the airlines (remember Steven Slater?), it is good to know that some airline employees seem to be happy with their jobs.

Take a look at the list below and let us know what you think!

The more I talk to, the more unhappy they get. No one there likes the way the company is run and the scrutiny over everything they endure. http://www.latikacuscotravel.com/

Why wouldn't Southwest be the #1 Airline for the people and employees? THERE'S NOTHING BUT LUV & FUN HERE EVERYDAY.

US Air may have happy employees but the ugly step sister US Airways Express (Mesa Airlines) has almost ALL employees unhappy. The more I talk to, the more unhappy they get. No one there likes the way the company is run and the scrutiny over everything they endure. Sad.

Delta's bad, no doubt. But from my experience the employees of United are miserable, sullen, hostile people by and large. My 14 hour flight from Seoul to SFO was filled with numerous shockingly curt exchanges between the FA's and various passengers. The tension was palpable.

Generally speaking (based on numerous incidents) this has been my observation about UA as well. It seems the employees are worked to the nubbins, and are within an inch of going postal.

I once had the temerity to ask a flight attendant (it may have been Delta) if I could hang my coat in the business class "closet," and got a really ugly response. To her credit the FA took the coat but was nasty and awful. On the way out I offered a warm thanks (with a let-bygones-be-bygones smile) which was brushed off testily. Again the sense I got was that the poor FA was operating to within an inch of a nervous breakdown. The concept of courtesy (as in, even "I am sorry but you need to pay for a business class fare if you're worried about your precious coat") was noticeably missing. Give me civility over a wrinkled coat any day.

Delta is the worst. It is not about the FAs or the attitudes anymore. It is about foul business practices. They will take your money and let you walk to your destination.

I admire the flight attendants in the US. In the Philippines, you have to be young, tall, got glowing skin, and all. Here most FA are very casual.

Delta intentionally overbooks all its flights and squeezes some passengers off the flight list as a result. I was in that situation twice. Never again.

Where's Virgin America? Their safety video is good and the screens in front of you terrific.
Had a great trip to LA and back this last week end. Nice at the airport, (SEA) too

Virgin is the best airline company I've flown. It is hands-down a century ahead. But it may not be on the list because it's not an American company.

The only time you're going to see happy US Airways employees is if their medications have just kicked in. There is no other conceivable way that anyone could be happy at the worst airline in America.

Yeah I imagine you are probably an once a year flyer.

What in the world would cause you to come to that conclusion?

I have to say I also like Southwest. They aren't fancy but they are on time, clean, cheerful, and polite. We used to fly Delta for the same reasons---despite their increased cost. Now we only fly Southwest.

I like Southwest. Their employees always seem to enjoy what they're doing. Service is simple, no frills, get in, get out, you're there, I bring my own food and entertainment.

Well, some airline employees outside of the U.S. can be happy as well. Do you remember this Lufthansa pillow fight video?

I don't care about someone singing, what I care about are PRICES. The price to travel around Thanksgiving was $600 round trip. LOWER YOUR PRICES SOUTHWEST, then we will all be singing!

This might be off-topic, but Air Tahiti is THE BEST airline with the friendliest most accommodating attendants anywhere. They service Paris to LAX (en route to Tahiti) and also Japan.
