Via Los Angeles Times:
GQ Magazine has published its list of the Ten Best Independent Men's Stores in America, and two Los Angeles boutiques have made the cut.
In fact, West Hollywood's Opening Ceremony tops the list as GQ's number one boutique. We agree that Opening Ceremony is pretty impressive, with 10,000 square feet of retail space and a second-level "mini-mall" that, according to Opening Ceremony's website, features brands like "Acne, Nom de Guerre, Mayle, Topshop, Exquisite Costume, Schiesser Revival, DAP Art Books, Other Music, BOY, Band of Outsiders, and Opening Ceremony's own private label collection." This store practically defines one-stop shopping, and is located at 451 North La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90048.
The other Los Angeles boutique to make the top ten list is Confederacy, which comes in at number five. Located at 4661 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Feliz, Confederacy is a shop that sells both men's and women's apparel, as well as giftware. The store boasts 5,000 square feet which holds both its retail collections and also an impressive selection of books and, as their website states, "a gallery space featuring a rotating roster of emerging artists." If you are looking for a unique boutique (where fitting rooms are fashioned out of vintage phone booths) you can find it here as you browse an eclectic selection of art, literature, gifts and clothing.
