Moments ago, Apple released its Mac OS X 10.6.5 update to its customer-base. Fixes in the point-upgrade include:

The OS update is -- purportedly -- the first step in a three-stage software rollout due this week from Apple; iTunes 10.1 and iOS 4.2 are also supposed be released. Hit the "Software Update" section in OS X to get the new goodies.

Updated all our intel Macs in less than 10 minutes each.

Well worth the effort.

If you still use a Mac on Leopard get the Security Update 7.

You can thank Flash for that. 42% of the security updates in Mac OS X 10.6.5 were dedicated to fixing problems with Flash.

Show me. Where did you see 42 percent? Show me proof that Adobe Flash required this level of attention. That would mean it took Apple programmers somewhere near two hundred and eighteen MEGABYTES in lines of code for a single utility. That I simply cannot believe.

If your mac is encrypted w/ PGP DO NOT UPDATE!!! It will destroy your hard drive, thank god for time machine as I only lost a day of work, but what a pain!

PGP is software which allows you to encrypt your entire hard drive. The update inconveniently locked people out of their own computers. Unless you've installed PGP on your Mac you're likely not running it, so go ahead and update your computer.
