Jenn Sterger Reportedly Meets With NFL

NEW YORK — The woman who allegedly received lewd photos and inappropriate text messages from Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre met with NFL investigators Thursday, her manager said.

Phil Reese said in an e-mail that Jenn Sterger met with league officials and "we cooperated fully by providing them with substantial materials in our possession. We now await the NFL's decision."

The NFL is examining whether Favre sent Sterger messages and photos while he was with the New York Jets in 2008 and she was a game hostess for the team.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league had no comment.

Favre could face possible disciplinary action under the league's personal conduct policy.

The allegations arose last month in a report on the website Deadspin.

The site said Sterger wouldn't agree to an interview and acknowledged that it paid a third party for the texts, voicemails and graphic photos, said to be of Favre, that it posted in a video.

The 41-year-old quarterback met with NFL vice president for security Milt Ahlerich last month. Favre has stonewalled questions about the investigation, calling it "a league issue."

Sterger appeared on a Versus TV network show until recently, but it was canceled due to low ratings.

A three-time MVP, Favre has had a rough 20th season in the NFL. He is dealing with two ankle fractures and elbow tendinitis, and took 10 stitches in his chin after getting hit against New England on Oct. 31. The Vikings are 3-5 heading into Sunday's game at Chicago.

I don't think she is a "victim" but not a villainess either. My question is: Just what is the job description of a "team hostess" anyway? If "team hostess" is a euphemism for a prostitute, then Favre and the executive who gave Sterger's number to Favre were both behaving reasonably. If she was not a prostitute, then she would be the vicitm of gonzo sexual harrassment. I think the real story here is that the Jets have hookers on the payroll while they and the other team owners are poor-mouthing and threatening a lock-out next year. BTW: How ironic is it that "Sterger" spelled backwards is "regrets?"

Victim? Is that really the headline you want to run with? Give me a break, this gold digger remained silent for 2 years. When news breaks she refuses to talk to the NFL, waiting on a big huge check settlement. Only when she does not get that check does she now to decide it is prudent to talk to the NFL investigators. She is not a victim, but an opportunist. The commissioner needs to show some backbone and just drop this ridiculous story once and for all.

No matter what opinions we have, the facts are that she leaked this 2 years down the line before a Jets and Vikes game. That is calculating. If the photos are really from him, the NFL should be able to find out and will suspend him. I'm guessing he would have paid her off by now if there was a chance he had really sent them. We will see, though.

We're not sure who leaked the pics. It could have come from any number of places, Ms. Sterger, one or more of her friends who knew about the incidents, and even someone working at one of the cell phone companies. The magazine that broke the story says Sterger wasn't the source. Favre already admitted to leaving the voice mails, and he does sound extremely pressed in them, it's not crazy to think he could have sent the pics too. It will be pretty easy to prove from cell records if they came from his phone or not. You're right, we certainly will see.

She's gotten a lot of hate, but frankly I blame Favre.  His wholesome good old boy image is a fraud, and he ought to ride off into the sunset after this season and let some young QB have a chance.

Wholesome??? Uh, he had a long time substance abuse problem and didn't marry his wife until years after their first child was born. He is a football ironman, but I don't think he ever described himself as wholesome. He does have a Southern good old boy image and not sure how you can say that is a fraud.

Are you planning on quiting your job soon, so someone younger can have it, too? just wondering......silly talk.....

In cases like this, Anita Hill comes to mind, I think the woman should get the benefit of the doubt. Reading these comments I guess the opposite is the order of the day. IMO this is not a no harm no foul situation. Where do you want to draw the line? I have a lot of respect for her coming forward with this knowing she would be crucified. A sexist lynching, if you will. I wouldn't do it. 20 something, beautiful 6 figure income with a future in broadcasting where there is real money. Why rock the boat.

Women should not get the benefit of the doubt. There are many, many, cases in which women were proven to be liars. I believe that Anita Hill lied. After the alleged harassment by Thomas, she sent him several very friendly letters. Also, there is considerable other evidence that hurts her credibility.

This young woman wearing extremely revealing clothing on an almost daily basis, is probably the victim of numerous unwarranted sexual advances from men. Yet she just ignores the majority of them, unless from a public figure like Brett, then she is suddenly "offended."
