24/7 Wall Street:

Picking stocks for a decade is no easy task. It might as well be for a lifetime because there probably will be two more bear markets and two more bull markets between now and then.

While cap-ex concerns may be there, there is plenty of room for water utilities to raise prices.

Attention muni/local water utilities (and local/muni ratepayers) who want to privatize your water utility-please read and reread that statement FIRST before you even THINK of doing this when that contract goes to bid and they apply-THINK ABOUT IT!!!!!!!

Seriously? What a joke!

Try, ``10 Companies to stash your pre-tax dollars in and get nothing but a paltry dividend from as they won't be moving anywhere,'' would be the correct title.

If you want to make money in the Stock Market, 10 massively overly held stocks won't do it.

Depends on your risk appetite, time horizon, etc... A simple no is not an adequate response in this case.

I don't see Disney doing so well in the future. Their magic is getting tarnished.

Been to Disney World or on a Disney cruise lately? Figured not.

So these 10 companies' CEOs and other upper-level execs will likely pull out after we've "invested", so they can sit pretty while everybody else is left with nothing?

Why does this article come across more like a setup...

The old rule goes something like... don't buy what you don't understand... It's probably good advice.

Why would we believe what they tell us we should buy? Does anybody actually trust any of them?
If they told me what companies to buy stocks in I'd know they were rigging something.

The best time to buy is when everyone hates wall street. Now might be time to consider.

In boom times and down times the experts always have stock predictions. Be it buying or selling someone gets paid..

Who would want to invest in GE? Arms dealers? Buyers of depleted uranium? Recent big money contributors to Republicans?

How about 'none'? How about '@#$@ the stock market'? How about DOW: 18 points? How about taking a lot of these companies private, so there's less pressure on them to pay dividends and so forth, so they can sell their products at lower prices, more economically and affordably, and thus sell more OF them to people who would otherwise probably be considering the Made In China competition product? Restructuring doesn't have to hurt, but you do have to start somewhere...

American business only thinking in 3-month terms has helped, in no small part, to the economic catastrophe that we have today. Japan and China think long term and this is why their economies are in a better situation than are we. I'm looking to start a business next year and there is no way I want to go anywhere near Wall Street to ask for investors because they only want immediate profit and I want to build a lasting business that will pay for decades.
