Veterans suffering from PTSD are using service dogs to alleviate some everyday stresses, giving them a new lease on life, reports CNN.

Organizations like Puppies Behind Bars offer soldiers back from war service dogs -- sometimes worth $20,000 to $30,000 -- as thanks for serving our country.

Nice to meet you. Cherish the moments. My book, "Healing Companions: Ordinary Dogs and Their Extraordinary Power To Transform Lives," includes compelling stories of veterans and others and how their psychiatric service dogs have helped them survive their debilitating symptoms of PTSD, TBI & MST. Thanks. Peace, Jane

We should all treat one another with kindness, love, and understanding, the way good dogs treat us. Everyone needs that. Everyone is fighting a battle. These incredible veterans, though, have gone through much worse than most of us can imagine. Let's be good to them the way the dogs are.

love of a dog.......so uncondtional. so perfect
nothing like a dog .to put a smile on your face.
i have a friend with PTSD, he always says , had he not had his Ridgebacks, after he came home from the war.......
he would have had no desire to live.
