Eric Holder: A Man On A Mission

Eric Holder

GQ:

A few days after Rahm Emanuel resigned as White House chief of staff in October, I stopped by the Justice Department to see Eric Holder. I had been meeting with the attorney general periodically for about a year (since he was named one of GQ's Men of the Year last December), and I knew from our conversations, as well as from Holder's friends and family, that the last few months had been a bumpy ride. But I also knew that many of Holder's frustrations on the job could be linked to his thorny relationship with Emanuel. I wondered if things were looking up.

On the fifth floor of the Justice building, I took a seat at the long table outside Holder's office and was studying a portrait of Bobby Kennedy on the wall when Holder bounded into the room with a grin, slapped my hand into a shake, and said, "How you doing, man? Are you avoiding me?"

Mr Holder,

May I remind you that widespread institutional fraud has been discovered throughout the mortgage securitization model ... involving federal banks ... as well as Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac.

Why are you and Barack Obama sitting on the sidelines ?

It appears that laws and the legal process are being trampled in a desperate attempt preserve capital.

Has the new law of money ... replaced American law ?

''I was reminded of something one of his friends had told me, a former DOJ official who has known Holder since the beginning of his career: "Eric has this instinct to please. That's his weakness. He doesn't have to be told what to do—he's willing to do whatever it takes. It's his survival mechanism in Washington."

As sad as that sounds I can't put all the blame on Holder as that has been an on going struggle for AA men in the upper levels of goverment.

Holder is another Obama failure. Picked for his race and not his skills or experience

This is the weakest AG, Eric Holder, in the history of the United States.

Eric Holder's mission is to obstruct justice for the powerful and the privileged whether they be forgers of fiduciary instruments or war criminals. After all, his boss says "now is a time for reflection rather than retribution" for those kinds of people. The rest can be crucified - or maybe just water-boarded.

I thought the US AG's "mission" was to uphold and enforce federal law. I thought the application of this enforcement was supposed to blind to politics (left or right) and personal beliefs, but strictly enforced withing the boundaries of the law. He has failed at every level.

For the last few days I have been blasting off emails to Holder to tell him to do his job and start prosecuting criminals that belonged to the last administration, bank CEO's, Karl Rove and his foreign mafia along with the CoC, plus all 5 of the Supreme Court Justices for conspiring with Republicans to sell this country's elections.

EMAIL ERIC HOLDER AND TELL HIM TO START PROSECUTING THE CRIMINALS THAT HAVE STOLEN FROM US, TORTURED BY ADMISSION, BROKEN DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL LAW, SOLD OUR ELECTIONS, THE THIEVING BANKSTERS AND THE SCOTUS CONSPIRATORS.  ALL OTHER COUNTRIES ARE PROSECUTING CEO'S, CORRUPT POLITICIANS ETC., IT'S ABOUT TIME WE DID THE SAME!!!

Welib...Holder is an Obama appointee; he serves, as far as I know, at the pleasure of the President. Let's put the blame where it belongs here. If Obama wanted to initiate the types of prosecutions you describe and create new legislation helpful to average Americans, he would never have appointed Holder in the first place. What I find amazing is how well Holder is sheltered; there is no transparency to his office; his name never comes up in the news. ....shades of Gonzo?

Holder still hasn't arrested anyone in the George Dubai Bush administration for war crimes.

Kind of makes me wonder what exactly he's doing.

Supposedly Congressman Artur Davis asked Holder and President Obama to not fire US Attorneys Leura Canary and Alice Martin in an effort to wind votes from the religious right in his run for Governor. Both Canary and Martin were involved in stealing the 2002 Alabama Governor's Election, whereby 6000+ votes disappeared in Baldwin County(from Democrat Don Siegelman to Republican Bob Riley, after a Republican Judge Johns sent Democratic Poll Watchers home and conducted an illegal second recount in which the vote change occured). Canary and Martin threatened Siegelman with prosecution if he contested the stolen election.
I always tell this when anyone starts talking to me about Attorney General Holder and what a good man he is.
However, I know the difference.

"And in September, Holder found himself in perhaps the most surprising position of all—defending the administration's right to assassinate a U.S. citizen, even if he hasn't been convicted of any crime. According to a Justice Department brief filed in the case of Anwar al Awlaki, a radical Imam who was born in the U.S., the Obama Administration now claims it has the right to assassinate a citizen based on suspicion alone."

can we prove that he's a T? who cares. courts don't decide who we can or can not K/M. they do.
there is no more rule of law. only the Dept of Injustice (DOI).

"In January, after a review by the Office of Professional Responsibility concluded that the authors of the torture memos had committed professional misconduct, Holder allowed the supervisor of that office, David Margolis, to overturn the committee's conclusion and absolve the lawyers of wrongdoing. Sources close to Holder say that he was disappointed by Margolis's decision and believed the finding of misconduct was correct—but was unwilling to overrule a nonpolitical employee on such a sensitive issue"

Yoo and Bybee, rewarded for their acts, and living it up. rule of law? justice? don't worry the Dept of Injustice (DOI) will get right on it.
there is no longer a rule of law.

Never has been for the big boys. I saw it for myself in my 28 years with the IRS Collection Division, Charles Rosotti, former IRS Commissioner was not interested in adhering to the law. I can only presume he was taking bribes. Sue me Chuck if you don't like what I'm saying about you, you know who I am. I assure you Chuck was not alone in ignoring the law.

"To ignore evidence of a crime by the last administration, so that the current administration won't be examined in the future, is a political consideration indeed"

that's right, the law bends to politics. there is no rule of law, only the law of political expedience.
this is not justice. this is injustice. thanks to the Dept of injustice (DOI).

Email Holder and tell him.  I do it almost every day now and sometimes more than once.  If they get enough people screaming at them, maybe they will do the right thing.

"Holder has become a vanguard for the administration's progressive wing. He has promised to end the policy of indefinite detention at Guantánamo by prosecuting some of its most notorious detainees; to investigate torture by the CIA; and to revitalize the department's most neglected offices, like the long-suffering Civil Rights Division."

Promises, promises. Where are the CIA prosecutions? Where are the Bush prosecutions? Where are the Justice Department investigations? His only positive is that the anti-progressive, anti-union Rahm Emanuel hates him. The progressives should just abandon the Democrats and let them become the Whig party of the 21st century. The Republicans always, always represent the extreme of their party. The Democrats always wimp over to its most Republican aspect--and that mentality has brought about the destruction of American society. Clinton signed Gramm-Leach-Bliley; he signed NAFTA. What do we need the Democratic party for if all it is, is Republican Lite? What kind of world is it when everything is a lie? "Third Way"? That's a heterosexual giving it up to a homosexual casting director in the hope of getting a bit part in a movie.
