"Read the books three times over"??

ha ha I will be 49 on the 21st of this month. I had read the LOTR 17 times by the age of 27.
I almost walked out of the theater during the third movie when the Orc army entered Minas Tirith and advanced half way to the Citadel. This was more than I could take. No enemy ever entered with an army. Gandalf turned them back at the same time the horns sounded from riders of Rohan. The only part that truly lived up to the vision of my mind was the Balrog and the Bridge of Khazad-dûm. Yes I know.. picky picky picky. But to be fair the movie was indeed breath taking in its realism.

I've lived in NZ for the last 25 years as a "foreigner" being Australian by birth. Its a beautiful country ,of that there no doubt .We have free health care and unlimited un-employment benefits , if your unlucky enough to be out of a job. If you get sick you will never "lose the farm" ,even the Hospice is free ! The only down side is we don't allow Nuclear Vessels in our harbors. But hey ,you can't have everything.

You can see all of this sort of stuff in Washington State & British Columbia. For a lot less, and without an 18 hour plane ride. The drive on US 12 between I-5 and Yakima is easier and probably just as picturesque (and you can get decent coffee.)

Of course you can never leave the U.S. if you don't want to.

According to the "making of" video associated with LOTR, the Dead Marshes were actually a set built in a parking lot.
