I'll keep hoping for a day when this isn't necessary but I applaud their ingenuity :)

I've been a supporter of same-sex marriage since the day I saw my husband and fell instantly in love 32 years ago. There were no barriers to our happiness and we've been married for 30 years. If someone would have told me I couldn't marry him, I would have fought with everything I had so for 30 years, I've been a loud supporter of same-sex marriage and our success in Canada gives me hope that soon, our American friends and family will have the rights they deserve.

I wish any couple, gay or straight, who thinks that an e-marriage is a satisfactory substitute for a traditional ceremony, but my personal opinion is that this is just one more hoop that same-sex couples have to jump through to achieve what straight couples take for granted. I personally am rooting for the same-sex couples who are challenging the federal Defense of Marriage Act in  federal courths in New York and Connecticut.

I'm straight and married, but this is a terrific idea! For now, it will work. I hope that homosexuals eventually get the right to marry in every state.

I think this a GOOD idea.....especially for those who CAN'T Afford to Travel to a place where "its legal/allowed" ....could you even imagine Straights ever having to do this? The Outrage would be so LOUD!

Of course it would be, rextrek. I think it is a great idea. Why do WE have to go to all the expense and trouble to go to a state or country that will marry us? The hatred of those whose lives would not be affected one bit if we were allowed to marry in all 50 states with full federal rights.

This is grand. Until we have full rights, we will find ways to make it work.
