Facebook will be holding a press conference Monday, November 15 starting at 10:00 AM PT in San Francisco.

There are rumors that the social network will be taking the wraps off of an email service--allegedly dubbed the "Gmail killer" within Facebook.

Facebook will be providing live video of the event so that you can follow the press conference as it happens.

Facebook and their intrusiveness tactics are really starting to show. I wonder if there will be another social networking site that dethrones Facebook like it did Myspace... No I don't want emails coming through my Facebook. Facebook on it's own is personal and bad enough. Imagine giving your email to a business partner and them being able to look up your Facebook and see everything you have on there. You could loose your job, a partnership, or even a career with some of the stuff that is posted on there. Much of which is out of your control.

With their history of privacy failures, there's no way on earth I'm giving them any more information than I already do. It's why I won't use Facebook Connect either.

And it's also the same good reason why I never send anything confidential using Gmail.

Companies with access to too much information, and a history of abusing that privilege, get as little of my data as I can manage.

AND - you can already send anyone a message in facebook unless they have it (or you) blocked. So what is really the point? Gmail killer? Seriously?

Sorry. Just like I won't use a Hotmail or Yahoo email address for work or business, not using a facebook one for that either. Will I get a facebook email? Of course. Will I use it much? Not sure. But as I have my own domain(s), I don't need to.

Facebook is shallow and for the self-serving. It is for men who like variation and ego boosts and aggressive (crazy drama) Bachelor watching women. People are so empty that that literally go on Facebook to steal a.k.a "get to know", peoples husbands and wives. Facebook is lame! Sick of friends taking pictures for their Facebook Accounts, when yo are trying to chill!
