Abu Dhabi is quickly becoming one of the hottest destinations on the planet, and now thrill-seeking tourists have yet another reason to visit: a chance to experience Formula Rossa, the world's fastest roller coaster.
According to the BBC, Formula Rossa is just one of many attractions at the all-new Ferrari World, the world's largest indoor theme park, which opened to grand fanfare Nov. 4. The 86,000-square-meter park also features a traditional carousel, interactive 3-D shows and a walk-through exhibition on Italian history.
But Formula Rossa, which hits speeds of 150 miles per hour and utilizes an aircraft carrier-like hydraulic launch system to propel trains along its serpentine track, is undoubtedly Ferrari World's state-of-the-art centerpiece. In keeping with the theme of the new park, the ride also features bright red trains specifically designed to resemble the iconic Ferrari Formula 1 cars, down to the exact "Rosso Scuderia."
