Woman Found Shot To Death In Beverly Hills

UPDATE: Deadline Hollywood reports that the victim in the murder has been identified as Hollywood publicist Ronni Chasen:

Nikki Finke has confirmed that Ronni Chasen was "shot and killed" last night, according to Beverly Hills police. Nikki spoke to her at 5:30 last night. Ronni was promoting Michael Douglas for Best Supporting Actor for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, as well as Alice In Wonderland 3D for Best Picture. A friend said that after leaving the office, she attended the premiere of the Screen Gems film Burlesque. A longtime Rogers & Cowan senior movie publicist, spanning decades, Chasen went out on her own, establishing Chasen & Company Publicity.

BEVERLY HILLS ( KTLA) -- Beverly Hills police have launched an investigation after a woman was found shot to death inside a crashed Mercedes-Benz.

The shooting occurred in the area of Sunset Blvd. and North Whittier Drive around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to police.

The victim apparently drove south on Whittier Drive and eventually crashed her Mercedes into a light pole.
