Once the two separate cities of Buda and Pest, the picturesque city of Budapest boasts a surprisingly diverse range of sites from the beautifully maintained Roman ruins of Aquincum to Matthias Church, the medieval setting for many a royal wedding and coronation. Sadly, many of Budapest’s sites have been destroyed several times over the centuries, as was the case with Buda Castle, now home to a series of museums.
