I first saw her as she sat across from me on Metro-North, back when she still had the gamine "Kids" hair. She was wearing a Fair Isle sweater, puffy down jacket with jeans and carrying some vintage Vuitton hard-sided suitcase. I thought, "That girl really does have style!" I ran into her again this year at a gallery in Tribeca, with her long Big Love hair, unbraided, and a fur chubby. She has amazing skin and teeth, and in fashion terms has a great sense of wardrobe "bones" - all of which might help her get away with riskier choices. Plus, she's not at all Hollywood.

How you can be 36 and doing this? I don't care if you did it in 1992 either--still awful!! I've never known who the hell she is, but just that she's on the GoFugYourself website all the time because of her spectacularly bad taste. Actually, if you've never seen that site, check it out. With regard to The Brown Rabbit, do remember that there was a New York minute a few years back when it was sort of the in thing to have real sex in a mainstream movie. Until that time, it had been exceptionally rare. (I'm talking "In the Realm of the Senses" type movies here--not the porno version of "Caligula.") It was mainly a French/Rest of World type thing and never really caught on in the US. Only two examples I can think of are "Shortbus" and the aforementioned rabbit movie. One could say that makes Sevigny's on-film actions avant garde.

Of course, it was still a lousy movie.
