Christmas Penguins Greet Children At South Korea's Everland Park (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

December may still be a few weeks away, but that didn't stop some South Korean penguins from breaking into the holiday cheer a bit earlier than usual.

As Reuters reports, a pack of the birds donned Santa and reindeer costumes as they waddled down a decorated avenue at Everland Amusement Park in Yongin, just south of Seoul. Organized to kick off the park's annual "Christmas Fantasy" celebration, the spirited avian procession thrilled children of all ages. Christmas is a major holiday in South Korea, where a large portion of the population is Christian.

Christmas is a secular holiday in Korea. It is at most 25% Christian.

But, Penguins are from Antarctica, and Santa lives at the North Pole . . . this is just wrong. Those little Santa suits should be on polar bears, not penguins.

You think that maybe they have no idea of what's going on and why they have to be in those stupid costumes? Since when did animals understand Christmas, New Years, Hannaka, or any other relgious holiday. This is to bring people in so that they can spend money, it is not for the animals. It is stupid, stupid, stupid.

LMAO I caught one! Of course they have no idea why they are dressed up and of course its to bring in people and get more money thanks for pointing out the obvious. However, the birds at least aren't in a small enclosure and they get to go on a mini walk in the outside world. Plus they bring some happiness to the kids and probably get an extra serving of sardines which I'm sure they are all for.
